IO-Vega

IO-Vega is a medical device for examining the fundus (retina), called a binocular indirect ophthalmoscope. The device uses a convex lens focusing light coaxial with the examiner’s line of sight and directing it into the patient’s pupil for the magnified examination of every detail of the fundus.
The perfect weight balance of the headset between the front part (lens barrel) and the back part (battery housing) allows doctors to hardly feel its weight when worn.
The use of horizontal and vertical ridgelines for the lens barrel contributes to the clean form of the headset. The arc-shaped front side of the lens barrel is designed to constitute a sphere, the center of which lies at the occipital lobe where the visual cortex resides.
The main unit’s light gray color has a relaxing effect to reduce patient stress and anxiety.
